Charity

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (which we assume you aren’t considering you’re on the Internet), you probably know about Ted Williams. Williams is the latest YouTube sensation who went from a homeless man on the streets of Columbus, Ohio, to a national megastar with contract deals with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Kraft Foods in two days because of his sensational radio personality voice. (We won’t mention the fact that Williams is back in rehab already. RHoBH’s Taylor Armstrong — who as you may or may not know, is co-owner of the Malibu Beach Recovery Center, a “high-end drug and alcohol treatment center” — opened up to RealityTV Magazine about Williams and the issues his success has brought to light. Addiction is obviously an issue close to her heart. So what does Taylor think about the once unknown’s rise to fame?

“You know what struck me? That, like everyone else who loses his or her way, there’s a family that has also [been] affected by his addiction, and one that can now celebrate with him,” Taylor
blogged on the Malibu Beach Recovery Center’s website about Williams. And although Ted is just one man, Taylor wants to remind people that there are millions of others out there struggling with the same issues. “Many people have lost their jobs and their homes because of drugs and alcohol,” said Armstrong. “And as Ted has shown us, he’s part of a family. He’s someone’s child, and he has children himself. He’s a symbol for everyone — that there is a way back.”

Taylor has done alot of work for this Charity and it is very near to her heart. 1736 Family Crisis Center’s mission is to help those most in need by offering the necessary tools to develop safe, self-sufficient lives, focusing on domestic violence victims, runaway and homeless youth, and community members who need extra help to create stable lives. We provide access to an array of
services through comprehensive shelter and non-shelter programs. Please join her in helping the center in any way you can. Thank you.
